ella bric, formerly known as linda briceño, is increasingly recognized in the artistic scene across the continent, especially after winning the “producer of the year” award at the 2018 latin grammy awards—the first woman to achieve this honor. originally from venezuela, ella's professional background in music stems from el sistema de orquestas and her self-taught exploration of composition and music production. ella's career spans her role as a trumpeter, soloist, and cultural leader, earning her recognition as a young world leader by the world economic forum's 2011 “global shapers” program. over the years, she has collaborated with luminaries such as wynton marsalis and arturo sandoval before transitioning into composing, arranging, and producing music. her work reflects her personal journey as a woman in music and addresses contemporary societal issues through her art. ella has received multiple accolades, including the 2019 grammy award for producing “balance” by gustavo casenave, and she was a finalist in the prestigious rolex mentor-protégé program, where she exchanged ideas with lin-manuel miranda. additionally, ella received the musa award elena casals as a revelation artist, was selected as a 2024–25 nyu steinhardt artist-in-residence, and was part of karol g's “mañana será bonito” tour, solidifying her presence in the international music scene. with a conceptual album underway, ella bric continues to break the boundaries of contemporary music.
doris anahi muñoz is a first generation chicana artist and immigrant rights advocate from los angeles, california. she released her critically acclaimed debut ep “aprendiendo por las malas” in summer 2022 and starred as the subject of mija, a documentary focused on doris’ years as an artist manager supporting her family’s immigration journey, which premiered at sundance 2022, toured film festivals, and had a limited theatrical run. as the founder of casa mija and solidarity for sanctuary, doris’ practice is mission-led toward representation, self expression, and legacy-building for latines wishing to belong in the entertainment industry. she has curated and produced selena for sanctuary shows at lincoln center, summerstage, the ford, and grand park. closing out 2023, she released her sophomore ep “por las buenas” as well as produced and performed “canciones de mi madre,” a show reviving linda ronstadt’s historic 1987 “canciones de mi padre” mariachi album at the ford in partnership with the la philharmonic. she was a recipient of the 2024 latino spirit award for achievement in art & music by the california latino legislative caucus, and her hope is to continue uplifting her community through music, storytelling, and activism in her lifetime. doris also serves as a senior fellow in civic media at usc’s annenberg innovation lab. she is currently in the process of writing her debut album and novel in cdmx, diving into the intersections of her identities, with the goal that these bodies of work will serve as a bridge between her worlds in the u.s. and mexico.
